Step 2
1. I did the tongue first. I knew it would be kind of a pain in the ass, as there are things overlapping it. I recommend always doing that which is difficult first.
I used a Quinacridone Crimson for the base color and that same color mixed with Burnt Umber for the shadows.
2. The colors are the same for the lips of the guy on the middle left.
His eyes use the same red and have an undercoat of yellow in the background. The details and shadows on top of that yellow are done with a yellow shade of Phthalo Green. The pupils are done in Mars Black.
3. The creature on the left has lips that are base coated in a pinkish red color. I made the mixture many years ago and can no longer remember the type of paint that I used to create it. However, I can recall the colors-light brown, dark brown, deep red, and white.
His flesh tone is a mix of Burnt Sienna and Titanium White.
The details underneath the flesh are done with the Quinacridone Crimson and Burnt Umber mix.
The irises have an undertone of Cobalt Teal (that's light blue for all you simpletons! Just kidding. . . .if I weren't looking right at the jar, I wouldn't have f*#%$@! clue what Cobalt Teal was either!) I added shadows over that with a Turquoise Phthalo.
The pupils are done with a light brush of C.P. Cadmium Red Light (the most beautiful orange in the world!). I went over that color with Mars Black around the edges. Again I used the C.P. Cadmium Red Light to punctuate the irises with detail. It turned out quite pretty.
