Step 2

2.1) This image jumps ahead just a bit. There's a step in between it and the previous image that involved masking. Here, I've masked over all my detail images with two things: frisket paper, a low tack, adhesive film, which serves as an excellent protector for things that one doesn't wish to accidentally paint over; and Pebeo Drawing Gum, which is a liquid masking film, serving the same function as the frisk paper-the only difference is that it's applied with a brush.

First, I put down a layer of frisk paper, covering the entire board. It's clear, so it allows one to still be able to see the detail underneath. Once I was finished rubbing it flat, making sure there were no air bubbles between the film and the board, I took an X-Acto knife and cut around the edges of the images.

Upon finishing, I pulled the frisk paper up from the areas of the image that I intended to paint first. There were several spots that were too small to cut around with an X-Acto knife, such as the small clouds and a few detail spots in the grass, so I used the liquid mask.

2.2) Now I'm ready to paint. The lot of this piece will be painted with "Golden Acrylics." It is the best acrylic paint in the world, as the brand is by Sam Golden (a god in my eyes), the very person who INVENTED acrylic paint!

List of Colours:

Burnt Umber; Light Green (Yellow Shade); Anthraquinone Blue; Cerulean Blue Deep; C.P. Cadmium Red Dark; Permanent Violet Dark; Burnt Sienna; Mars Black; C.P. Cadmium Red Light ("Orange", for short!); Permanent Green Light

This is the only step in which I will use my airbrush for this specific piece. First, I sprayed on several layers of Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) to get the sky color in the background. Then I applied a mix of Burnt Sienna (with a few drops of C.P. Cadmium Red Dark) in the same fashion for the earth color.
